Research stereotypes that are associated with your specific ethnic group. ~ What is the history of the stereotypes? ~ Are they in truth? ~ Have you ever encountered any of the stereotypes? ~ Find something interesting about your family. When researching this project please make use of all of your resources: ~ Internet ~ Library/Books ~ Personal Interviews: when it comes to your family history, ask the members of your family for help. Make this a fun project to learn something about who you are! Time to create your presentation: Using powerpoint, create a presentation about the stereotypes of your ethinicity. Each stereotype (minimum of 8) should look at the following aspects: 1. What is the stereotype? 2. What is the history behind the stereotype? 3. Is there truth behind the stereotype? 4. What harm can become of this stereotype? 5. Have you ever encountered this stereotype? Please be sure to take a look at how you will be evaluated for this project. It needs to be clean and precise. The presentation needs to have a minimum of 8 stereotypes. You may use an outline for the oral presentation but do not write everything out. DO NOT READ FROM YOUR POWERPOINT. Your final slide needs to be a reference of where you got all of your information. Most importantly have fun with this project and discover something about what makes you the person you are. http://www.toptenz.net/top-10-racial-stereotypes.php http://www.rpi.edu/dept/hr/docs/Age-Based%20Stereotypes.pdf http://healthland.time.com/2013/03/25/how-cultural-stereotypes-lure-women-away-from-careers-in-science/ http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/are-we-born-racist/201205/cultural-stereotypes-or-national-character
